CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will take to the road as the Chants will travel to the Appalachian State Mountaineers and Marshall Thundering Herd on Thursday and Saturday, Jan. 18 and 20. The two games are slated to tip off at 6:30 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET, respectively.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fell 72-60 to the Marshall Thundering Herd last Saturday.
Makaila Cange led three Chants in double digit scoring with 13 points, while
Alancia Ramsey and
Deaja Richardson finished with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Cange recorded her fifth double-double of the season as the 5-11 forward tallied 13 boards, while Ramsey snagged six boards.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND APP STATE
Coastal Carolina and the Mountaineers will be meeting for the 22nd time. The Chants trail in the all-time series at 13-8 with the two squads picking up home wins last season.

Coastal Carolina and Marshall will be meeting for the 11th time dating back to January 1983. The Thundering Herd lead the all-time series at 6-3 with the Chanticleers falling 72-60 last Saturday.
ABOUT COASTAL
Coastal Carolina enters the matchup 7-11 overall and 1-4 in Sun Belt play. The Chants are averaging 67.1 points per game while shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 27.0 percent from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 73.8 points per game, while opponents have a 41.2 shooting percentage from the floor and 32.7 percentage from behind the three-point arc. The Chanticleers have been outrebounded by their opponents 722-703.
Coastal is paced by Richardson and Cange who average 14.9 and 12.6 points per game, respectively, while
Arin Freeman (12.5) is averaging right just over 12 points per contest. Cange and Ramsey have averaged 7.7 and 7.2 rebounds per game.
ABOUT APP STATE
Appalachian State enters the week 8-8 overall and 2-3 in the league. As a team, the Mountaineers are averaging 71.5 points per contest while shooting 38.4 percent from the floor and 28.7 percent from three-point range. Defensively, App State has allowed 70.0 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 41.5 percent from the field and 31.1 percent from behind the arch.
Faith Alston leads the Mountaineers in double digit scoring with 19.5 points per game, while Emily Carver (15.5) is the only other Mountaineer in double digits. Appalachian State's top rebounder is Rylan Moffitt with 8.5 boards per game.
ABOUT MARSHALL
The Thundering Herd enter the week at 11-5 on the year and 5-0 Sun Belt record. As a team, Marshall is averaging 83.9 points per contest while shooting 42.0 percent from the floor and 31.3 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Herd has allowed 70.9 points per contest and its opponents to shoot just 26.4 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from behind the arch.
Roshala Scott leads four Marshall players in double digits with 21.0 points per game and followed by Abby Beeman, Breanna Campbell, and Aislynn Hayes with 16.3, 14.3, and 12.9 points per contest, respectively. Beeman is Marshall's top rebounder with 6.4 boards per game with Mahogany Matthews having grabbed 5.0 rebounds per contest.
