Chants Wrap Up Four Game Road Trip at Louisiana and ULM

Richardson leads Coastal women’s basketball with 15.0 points per

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will wrap up a four-game road trip as the Chants will travel to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and ULM Warhawks on Thursday and Saturday, Jan.  and 20. The two games are slated to tip off at 6 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET, respectively.


LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fell 97-85 to the Marshall Thundering Herd last Saturday. Deaja Richardson led three Chants in double digit scoring with 26 points, while Arin Freeman and Alancia Richardson finished with 20 and 16 points, respectively. Makaila Cange tallied nine boards, while Ramsey and Freeman snagged five boards each.
 
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND LOUISIANA
Coastal Carolina and the Ragin' Cajuns will be meeting for the eighth time. The Chants lead the all-time series at 5-2 with CCU picking up a 68-57 road win last season.
 
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND ULM
Coastal Carolina and Louisiana Monroe will be meeting for the seventh time dating back to February 2017, the Chants first season in the Sun Belt. The all-time series is all even at 3-3 with the Chanticleers falling 73-71 at the HTC Center last year.

ABOUT COASTAL
Coastal Carolina enters the matchup 7-13 overall and 1-6 in Sun Belt play. The Chants are averaging 67.8 points per game while shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 26.4 percent from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 74.9 points per game, while opponents have a 41.3 shooting percentage from the floor and 33.4 percentage from behind the three-point arc. The Chanticleers have outrebounded their opponents 808-787.
 
Coastal is paced by Richardson and Freeman who average 15.0 and 12.7 points per game, respectively, while Cange (12.5) is averaging right just over 12 points per contest. Cange and Ramsey have averaged 8.2 and 7.3 rebounds per game.
 
ABOUT LOUISIANA
Louisiana enters the week 6-10 overall and 2-5 in the league. As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns are averaging 58.8 points per contest while shooting 39.1 percent from the floor and 32.4 percent from three-point range. Defensively, Louisiana has allowed 64.1 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 42.4 percent from the field and 28.5 percent from behind the arch.
 
Tamera Johnson and Brandi Williams lead the Cajuns in double digit scoring with 12.1 and 11.4 points per game, respectively. The Ragin' Cajuns' top rebounder is Johnson with 6.1 boards per game.
 
ABOUT ULM
The Warhawks enter the week at 13-5 on the year and 5-2 in Sun Belt action. As a team, ULM is averaging 74.6 points per contest while shooting 41.4 percent from the floor and 33.5 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Warhawks have allowed 62.9 points per contest and its opponents to shoot just 36.0 percent from the field and 24.9 percent from behind the arch.
 
Daisha Bradford leads three ULM players in double digits with 20.9 points per game and followed by Jakayla Johnson and Katlyn Manuel with 13.3 and 10.5 points per contest, respectively. Bradford is ULM's top rebounder with 7.6 boards per game with Manuel having grabbed 6.6 rebounds per contest.
