Men’s Soccer Heads North to Face No. 8 James Madison

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team will hit the road to take on No. 8 James Madison on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. ET.

Coastal owns a 3-7-0, 1-2-0 Sun Belt record on the season.
Sophomore Lincoln Ulrich recorded his first career goal versus the Campbell Fighting Camels.
No. 8 JMU will be the first ranked opponent CCU has played this season.
Transfer sophomore Harrison Gough made his debut between the pipes for the Chants versus Campbell. Gough kept Coastal's second clean sheet of the year and recorded four saves off 17 shots in the outing.
Last season the Chants had a 1-3 record versus ranked opponents with their lone win coming against a No. 12 ranked JMU team.

Last Time Out

Coastal downed the Campbell Fighting Camels, 1-0.
The Chants took the lead in the 76th minute when Gudjon Stefansson used his head to knock the ball forward to Ulrich who then ripped a volley over the keepers head to put CCU up 1-0.
Steffanson recorded his first career assist in the outing.
Coastal trailed 17-14 in shots but lead 5-4 in shots-on-goal.

History Against

CCU owns a 1-1-0 record versus the Dukes.
The Chants downed JMU 3-2 in their last matchup in September 2023. Louis Bock, Noe Santos, and Deryn Armstrong all netted goals to secure the win.
The Dukes shut out the Chants 1-0 in their first meeting in October 2022.
Each team has recorded three goals apiece over the two-match history.
