CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team will welcome the Georgia Southern Eagles for a Sun Belt Conference matchup on Oct. 4 at the CCU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Chant Talk
- Coastal has a 2-6-0, 1-1-0 record on the year.
- The Chants will look to improve on their 1-6-2 Sun Belt Conference record from 2023.
- The Eagles were picked to finish last in the Sun Belt preseason rankings.
- Evan Howard and Doug Hainer lead the team with seven points apiece after recording three goals and one assist each on the season.
- Pierson Davis tops the team with 720 minutes of playing time. He is the only Chant to play the full 90 minutes in every match this year.
Last Time Out
- Coastal dropped its first Sun Belt Conference match to the South Carolina Gamecocks, 2-1.
- The Gamecocks took an early lead in the third minute when Alejandro Velazquez-Lopez found the back of the net.
- USC extended its lead in the 83rd minute on a solo shot from Ethan Ballek to make the score 2-0.
- The Chants narrowed the deficit to 2-1 in the 87th minute when Howard netted his second penalty kick of the season, but Coastal ran out of time to secure the equalizer.
- Howard recorded a season-high five shots in the outing as CCU outshot the Gamecocks 21-10.
History Against
- CCU has a 9-3-2 record versus Georgia Southern.
- Last time out, the Chants battled to a 0-0 tie versus the Eagles (Sept. 2023).

- Sophomore Ryan Holmes tops the team and is tied for third in the Sun Belt with six goals on the season. Three of the forward's goals have been game-winners which ranks him tied for third in the NCAA.
- Holmes was named SBC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 10 after recording a hat trick in Georgia Southern's 4-1 win over North Florida.
- Keeper Nate Martinez places second in the Sun Belt with a .788 saves percentage and has made 26 saves off 93 shots faced.
