Volleyball to Host Georgia Southern

Coastal Carolina has won four straight matches versus the Eagles

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team returns to Sun Belt Conference play to welcome Georgia Southern on Nov. 1-2, at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C. The first serve will begin at 6 p.m. ET on Friday and 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, with both matches being streamed on ESPN+.

SERIES BETWEEN COASTAL AND GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Coastal Carolina leads in the all-time series 25-3 against the Georgia Southern Eagles, with the two team first meeting in 1987. The Chanticleers won 13 straight versus the Eagles between November 2016 and October 2021. The Chants have won the last four matches dating back to the 2022 season and own an 11-2 home record versus Georgia Southern.
 
ABOUT COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers enter the weekend at 9-13 overall and 4-6 in Sun Belt action after a 3-1 win in a midweek matchup with College of Charleston last weekend. Jalyn Stout has recorded 13 triple-doubles this year.
 
CCU is led by Stout, who has 270 kills, 399 assists, and 260 digs to average a triple-double. Agata Lesiak, Emily Fowler, Lauren Malone, and Emma Van Elslande aid the offensive attack with 200, 161, 140, and 88 kills, respectively. Cagla Bengi is second on the team with 354 assists.
 
Defensively, Dilara Unal leads the team with 81 blocks while Valentina Varani has stopped 54 kills at the net. Sydney Lewis's 283 digs have helped put the offense back in attack mode.
 
ABOUT GEORGIA SOUTHERN
The Georgia Southern Eagles enter play with a 17-2 overall record and a 7-1 record in league play, having knocked off James Madison 3-1 and 3-0 last weekend.
 
Reagan Barth, Jillian Gray, and Paige Powers lead the Eagles' attack with 235, 203, and 159 kills, respectively, while Lydia Seymour (119) and Maggie Sale (111) have triple-digit kills. Kristin Barrett leads the team with 648 assists while Barth has added 35 service aces to pace the team.
 
Seymour (52), Sale (49), Barth (34), and Gray (30) have stopped 30 or more kill attempts with Powers and Barrett adding 16 and 15 blocks, respectively. Ashlyn Lovett has 362 digs to get the offense started, while Barth (207), Gray (179), and Barrett (139) have triple-digit digs.
