CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team faces its first road test of the new season with a trip to Clemson, S.C. to take on the Clemson Tigers tomorrow afternoon at the Clemson Lacrosse Complex.

Saturday will be the first ever meeting between the Chants and the Tigers, as the Clemson women's lacrosse program's inception dates back to just last year.
About Coastal
On opening weekend, the Chants dropped their home opener on Friday in a back and forth, 9-10 loss to Vermont, but followed that performance with a dominating 21-5 win over Wofford on Sunday.
Through two games, senior Monica Manley leads the team in scoring with an efficient six goals on eight attempts, along with four assists and one ground ball. Senior Sydney McClure is currently second with a perfect four goals in as many attempts. Preseason All-Conference selection Avery McIlwaine features a stat line of three goals, three assists, four draw controls and one caused turnover from her midfield position.
CCU will look to carry that momentum from Sunday's win over Wofford into tomorrow's meeting with Clemson, the 34th-ranked team in the country, to Coastal's 55th-place ranking according to the NCAA's latest poll.
About Clemson
In their program's inaugural season, the Tigers finished with an overall record of 12-6 in 2023, 4-6 in the ACC, with first-time wins over conference-rivals Duke, Louisville, Virgina Tech and Pittsburgh. Their season later ended with a 16-6 loss to North Carolina in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals in Charlotte, N.C.
The Tigers come into this weekend's matchup as winners of their first two games in 2024, with comfortable wins over Davidson and Furman. Through two games, 13th-ranked freshman recruit Regan Byrne has recorded a team-high seven goals, including six in their 19-10 win against the Wildcats. Graduate transfer Claire Bockstie features as the team's second leading scorer with six goals in her first season with the Tigers after four years at UMBC.
