Chants Face Charlotte and Davidson in Weekend Double Feature

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team is set to travel to North Carolina to face the Charlotte 49ers and the Davidson Wildcats in this weekend's road double feature. 

Last time out, the Chants blanked both UNC Greensboro and College of Charleston in a pair of 7-0 wins in front of their home crowd. Seniors Ryuya Ata, Maj Tomac and Guilherme Toresan went a perfect 4-0 in the weekend series. Freshmen Juan Cruz Collardin and Eric Tripathi also had an unbeaten weekend, with Collardin picking up a pair of singles wins and Tripathi adding another perfect 4-0 record. 

CCU enters this weekend's play 3-4 on the season, looking to extend their winning streak prior to the start of Sun Belt Conference play on Mar. 5 at Southern Miss. In their program's history vs. Charlotte and Davidson, the Chants control a 4-2 series lead over the 49ers but are 1-3 all-time against the Wildcats. 

Charlotte comes in as the 49th ranked team in the country according to the latest ITA rankings released on Tuesday. The 49ers are currently on a four-game winning streak, including wins over Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, UAB and South Carolina State. Overall, the 49ers are 8-2 on the season and a perfect 4-0 on their home courts. 

Davidson enters the weekend 4-2 and winners of their last three over Wingate, Belmont Abbey and Campbell. The Wildcats also feature a meeting with the James Madison Dukes tomorrow afternoon prior to their matchup with the Chants on Sunday. 

CCU vs. Charlotte is scheduled for a 2 P.M. ET start time on Saturday, followed by a noon ET start time vs. Davidson on Sunday.
