CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team returned home today for a makeup match against South Carolina State, originally scheduled for Jan. 27, at the Stevens Tennis Complex. 

The Chants started off strong in doubles play, taking two of the opening three matches. Senior pairing Carlos Berna Ruiz and Lucas Wayenburg remained unbeaten in doubles matches thus far this season, defeating SCSU's Novak Novakovic and Mikalai Bankou 6-1. Seniors Jesus Garcia and Guilherme Toresan later secured the doubles point for Coastal after a 6-0 win over Luka Stefanovic and Vanja Petrov. 

In singles play, Garcia claimed his second win of the day, putting the Chants up 2-0 early with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Petrov. However, Coastal dropped the final four singles matches in straight sets, with one left unfinished, losing by a final score of 4-2.  

CCU is back at home on Friday, Feb. 9 as they take on the Queens University of Charlotte Royals at 2 P.M. ET at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
