CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team returns to action this weekend as the Sandy Chants will compete in the Wheeler Beach Bash on Mar. 2-3 hosted by South Carolina. Coastal will face UNCW and host South Carolina on Saturday before battling Chattanooga and College of Charleston on Sunday.

  
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
The Sandy Chants enter the weekend having received three votes in the in the latest AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll. The Chanticleers are one of just 27 teams to appear on a ballot this week.
 
PAIR OF THE WEEK
Madison Allred, and Raychel Ehlers were named the first Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week of 2024. Allred and Ehlers went 3-1 at the Jacksonville Invitational on court four which included a straight-set win (21-14, 21-4) over No. 13 FIU. In the victory over the Panthers, Ehlers earned her 50th career victory to become just the ninth player in program history to win 50 matches as a Chanticleer. Allred and Ehlers now have 36 career victories as a tandem which are the most in program history.
 
COASTAL & UNCW HISTORY
The two teams will be meeting for the 16th time, as the Sandy Chants trail in the all-time series 7-8. The Seahawks and Chants met twice last season with Coastal claiming a pair of 3-2 victories. 
 
COASTAL & SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORY
South Carolina has won all 12 meetings against Coastal. The Chanticleers dropped a 3-2 decision to the Gamecocks last season.
 
COASTAL & CHATTANOOGA HISTORY
Coastal Carolina has won the only two meetings between the Chants and Mocs, including a 4-1 victory last weekend. 

COASTAL & COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON HISTORY
The Sandy Chants trail in the series with the Cougars, 6-8, but won three of the five meetings in 2023, including a 3-0 win in the Sun Belt Championship Tournament.
