CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team closed out its first home event of the season with two more sweeps of Central Arkansas and Tusculum on Saturday at the CCU Sand Courts.

Coastal Carolina has won five consecutive matches and is now 10-6 on the season. The Chants did not surrender a single team point during the Coastal Carolina Invitational. CCU has now won seven consecutive home matches and has won the last five by sweep.
 
Match 1: Coastal Carolina 5, Central Arkansas 0
 
Coastal grabbed the lead early and never looked back as Madison Allred and Raychel Ehlers won 21-9, 21-15 on court one. Madie Lichty and Denisse Morgenstern closed the first wave with a 21-14, 21-19 victory at the No. 4 flight.

Julia Blazek and Emma Plutnicki clinched the win on court two, winning 21-14, 21-19. Martine Kragholm and Sarah Riedell followed with a 21-14, 21-18 win at the No. 1 flight and Ellie Hanford and Emma Kunaus closed the match with a 21-17, 21-13 victory on court three.
 
Match 2: Coastal Carolina 5, Tusculum 0
 
Coastal fought off the Pioneers in the first wave as Lichty and Morgenstern opened play with a 21-18, 21-17 win. Allred and Ehlers made the score 2-0 as they won 21-16, 21-19 on court five.

Blazek and Plutnicki again gave the Chanticleers the win with a 21-13, 21-16 result at the No. 2 flight. Kragholm and Riedell followed with a 21-16, 21-16 win on court one. Hanford and Kunaus concluded the day with a 21-18, 19-21, 15-11 victory at the No. 3 flight, giving the Chants their fourth consecutive 5-0 win.

Over the course of the weekend, the Chanticleers set a program record by winning 30 consecutive sets. Coastal also recorded just the second weekend in program history with four 5-0 victories.

The Sandy Chants travel to Huntsville, Ala., next Friday and Saturday for the Sun Belt Mid-Year Tournament.
