Chants move up two spots in final round
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished in a tie for 11th place at the FSU Match Up at 51-over 915 (308-300-307) at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
Hannah Karg was the Chants' leader finishing tied for 40th with a nine-over 225 (75-74-76). Varatkarn Kunkaew finished one shot back with a 10-over 226 (73-75-78) and was tied for 44th.
Sara Sarrion finished tied for 52nd with a 12-over 228 (77-74-77), while Luisa Gibson finished tied for 69th with a 20-over 236 (83-77-76), and Isabella Spinazze finished 76th at 37-over 253 (87-88-78).
Duke started the final round at the top of the leaderboard and finished that way with a winning tally of 30-under 834. Host Florida State was the only team to record an under-par score with a three-under in Saturday's final round to finish second at 20-under 844. Georgia was third at five-under 859 with Baylor fourth at three-under 861. SMU rounded out the top five at seven-over 871.
Ohio State (+10, 874) finished sixth, two strokes in front of Alabama (+12, 876). Nebraska (+14, 878) was eighth, while Indiana (+27, 891) and Kansas (+27, 891) tied for ninth.
Campbell (+52, 916) was one shot back of the Chants, while Delaware (+59, 923) and Daytona State College (+65, 929) completed the field.
The Chants will be back in action April 1-3 at the Golfweek Invitational which will be held at the Caledonia Golf Course in Pawleys Island, S.C.
