Chants to face a 20-team field

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will be back in action when it travels to Pawleys Island, S.C., for the Golfweek Invitational scheduled for April 1-3 at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club.

The Chanticleers will face one of its largest fields of the season as 20 teams will challenge for the Golfweek Championship on the par-71, 5,990-yard course.

Joining the Chants in the field are Florida Gulf Coast, Marshall, Fairleigh Dickinson, Akron, UNC Asheville, Evansville, Austin Peay, USC Upstate, Winthrop, Florida Atlantic, Cal Poly, St. Thomas, High Point, Tennessee Tech, North Dakota State, Ohio, Georgetown, and two teams for Illinois-Chicago.

The Golfweek Invitational will be a three-day, 54-hole format and is scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. It's the fifth match of the spring season and the ninth overall for the Chanticleers, who are looking to add to its six top-10 finishes this season. Three of which are top-six finishes.

Head coach Katie Quinney's lineup will include Hannah Karg, Varatkarn Kunkaew, Sara Sarrion, Luisa Gibson, and Carolina Hortian. Elan Fleetwood will also play in the event as an individual.
