CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team will end the regular season this weekend as the Chanticleers look to extend their program-record 17-match winning streak in Columbia, S.C. at the Gamecock Grand Slam on Apr. 19-20. The Chants will play No. 15 Georgia State and No. 10 LSU on Friday before taking on No. 20 South Carolina and Jacksonville on Saturday.
RANKED OPPONENTS
Coastal will be facing three ranked foes in one weekend for just the fourth time in program history and for the first time since opening the 2023 season at the Seminole Beach Bash, where the Chanticleers knocked off No. 13 Cal Poly and No. 20 Washington for the program's first wins ever over ranked opponents.
FLIGHT RECORD
Ellie Hanford and
Emma Kunaus became the winningest No. 3 pair in program history last weekend, setting the single-season and career record with their 18th win of the season on court three, breaking the previous record of 17 set by
Madie Lichty and
Sarlota Svobodova in 2023.
COASTAL & GEORGIA STATE HISTORY
The two teams will be meeting for the ninth time, as the Sandy Chants are 0-8 all-time against Georgia State. The Chants dropped three decisions against the Panthers last season.
COASTAL & LSU HISTORY
Coastal Carolina has fallen in both meetings against LSU. The Chanticleers fell 5-0 to the Tigers in 2017.
COASTAL & SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORY
CCU is facing South Carolina for the 14th time in program history. The Chants are looking for their first win ever over the Gamecocks after dropping a 3-2 decision on Mar. 2
COASTAL & JACKSONVILLE HISTORY
The Sandy Chants are 11-4 all-time against the Dolphins. CCU claimed a 5-0 win in the last meeting on Feb. 23.
