Eight teams to face off in match play format
CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will be back in action when it travels to Raleigh, N.C., for the Wolfpack Match Play Invitational scheduled for April 8-9 at the par-72, 6,210-yard Lonnie Poole Golf Club. The event will be hosted by North Carolina State.
The match play format will see each team play three rounds made up of five singles matches, with each receiving one point for winning a singles match. If the team match has not been decided, a singles match tied after the final hole is extended one hole at a time until there is a winner.
Team rankings will determine the team seedings as the seedings are as follows, followed by its national ranking in parenthesis. Wake Forest (3), Virginia (23), North Carolina (28), Virginia Tech (51), NC State (60), Augusta (61), Coastal Carolina (96), and Princeton (187).
With CCU opening match play as the seven seed, the Chants will face two seed Virginia in its opening match.
Head coach Katie Quinney has set a lineup that includes three first-year Chants in Hannah Karg, Varatkarn Kunkaew, Sara Sarrion, Luisa Gibson, Carolina Hortian, and Isabella Spinazze will round at the CCU participants.
