
Coastal Cruises Past Arkansas State 6-1 on Senior Day

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team (12-6, 6-2 SBC) defeated Arkansas State (7-12, 1-7 SBC) in a 6-1 win over the Red Wolves on senior day at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
In their home finale, the Chants took the doubles point after winning the first and third seeded matchups 6-3 and 7-5. Anna Babayan and Jesse Hollins won their 13th doubles match of the season, as well as their third straight, as a pairing, as they took down ASU's top-seeded double team 6-3. CCU's third-seeded doubles team Nicole Abel and Brooke Rogers defeated the Red Wolves' Rebecca Brody and Nejla Zukic 7-5 to clinic to game's opening point for the Chants.
In singles, Coastal won five of six, with three wins coming in straight sets. Hollins, Cecile Morin and Aida Maria Mitrache each secured a singles point for the Chants after the second set, while Babayan and Kata Foldeak were forced into a third in the second and fourth-seeded matchups. Babayan and Foldeak both came away with another singles win to secure the outright victory for CCU, defeating Arkansas State's Anna Grigoreva and Sarah Millard in a final set tiebreaker. Hollins and Foldeak continue to add to their singles winning streaks, moving their tallies to 11 and seven, respectively.
Following the win over Arkansas State in their home finale, the Chants will travel to Norfolk, Va. to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs on Friday, Apr. 12 at 12 P.M. ET.
