CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina and the Chanticleer Sports Radio Network announced Wednesday that it has filled its radio broadcast lineup for the 2024 football season. Chris Burgin will be the play-by-play announcer while Layne Harris will continue in the booth as color analyst. Joe Catenacci will serve as the sideline reporter with Sam Weiderhaft handling the host role for the pregame and halftime shows.
Burgin has handled sideline duties for Chanticleer football for the past 10 seasons and also serves as the play-by-play voice of Coastal Carolina men's basketball. For more than four decades, Harris has called the action for numerous local teams and events, including Fox College GameDay on WFXB TV, Conway High School football, Myrtle Beach High School football, the prestigious Beach Ball Classic basketball tournament, and Chanticleer basketball.
Catenacci has served as a sideline reporter and pregame and postgame host for the Chanticleer Sports Radio Network during football broadcasts. He also serves as the play-by-play voice for the Coastal Carolina baseball program.
Weiderhaft joins the football roster after working as the ESPN+ play-by-play broadcaster for Coastal women's basketball, as well as holding play-by-play roles for multiple ESPN+ broadcasts for the Chanticleers.
