Women’s Soccer Opens Conference Play Versus Old Dominion

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team will open up Sun Belt Conference play versus the back-to-back reigning SBC Tournament champions Old Dominion on Friday, September 20. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET in Norfolk, Va.

Chant Talk
  • CCU has a 4-3-2 record on the year.
  • The Chants are sitting on a two-match win streak and have won four of their last five matches.
  • Freshman Eleanor Ashton was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 17 and is the second Chant to pick up SBC Player of the Week honors this season alongside senior Vivienne Carr. The last time CCU had two Player of the Week recipients in the same season was back in 2020.
  • Ashton is Coastal's first freshman to pick up this honor since former Chant Rylee Atteberry won in 2017.
  • Tamlyn Parkes tops the team with nine points and tallied two goals and one assist last week versus UNCG and Davidson.

Scouting the Opponent
  • The back-to-back reigning Sun Belt Conference Tournament Champions have a 5-3 overall record on the year.
  • Old Dominion has picked up wins over VCU, William & Mary, UNCW, George Mason, and Longwood.
  • The Monarchs have tallied 10 goals on the year with Rhea Kijowski leading the team with three goals.
  • Both of ODU's keepers have seen action in five matches this season. Emily Bredek leads the goalkeeping staff with 365 minutes of playing time, five starts, and 16 saves, while Erin Jones has logged 345 minutes of action, 13 saves, and two shutouts.
