Softball Adds Five on National Signing Day

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina softball head coach Kelley Green announced the signing of five student-athletes for the 2027 season on National Signing Day.

The Chanticleers will welcome Allie Vaughn, Avery Wilson, Devyn Wilson, Kayden Purdy, and Savannah Lorenzini to the program.

"I am looking forward to seeing this group on the field next year," stated Green. "We have put together a strong class that should be ready to make an immediate impact as freshmen."

Allie Vaughn
A native of Covington, Ga., Vaughn is a four-year letterwinner under head coach Heather Wood at Eastside High School, where she also served as team captain for one season. Vaughn helped lead Eastside to the AAAA Georgia State Championship title and was a key contributor to three consecutive regional championships (2023–2025). During her standout career, she guided her team to four straight Elite Eight appearances (2022–2025) and a state runner-up finish in 2024. Individually, Vaughn earned All-Region Second Team honors in 2023 before being named to both the All-Region First Team and All-State Team in 2024. Ranked as the No. 29 infielder in the Southeast for the Class of 2026 by Extra Innings Softball, Vaughn also threw two perfect games during the 2024 season (Aug. 15 and Sept. 18).

Green on Vaughn: "Allie has all the tools to be an elite infielder and hitter at our level. She's extremely athletic and can play multiple positions while providing gap-to-gap power in the lineup.

Avery Wilson
A Monroe, N.C., native, Wilson is a two-time NCHSAA 1A State Champion (2023, 2024). She led her team to the 2024 Yadkin Valley Conference and 1A West Regional titles, earning All-State and All-Conference honors in back-to-back seasons (2024, 2025). A force in the circle, Wilson was named District Pitcher of the Year in 2024 and went on to claim Yadkin Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year, State Championship MVP, and Greater Charlotte Hot Stove League Pitcher of the Year honors in 2025. A standout both on and off the field, she is also a three-time Scholar-Athlete and a Charlotte Observer Athlete of the Week selection.

Green on Wilson: "We expect Avery to elevate our pitching staff immediately. She has elite movement on her pitches and a great change of speed."

Devyn Wilson
Wilson was a standout multi-sport athlete at Skyline High School, earning varsity letters in volleyball, softball, and flag football. A two-time All-Conference selection in softball (2023, 2024), she made her mark in 2024 by breaking school records for most hits (43) and most runs scored (31) in a single season. Her athletic versatility extends beyond the diamond, as the Sammamish, Wash., native was also named to the 2025 All-Conference Flag Football Team.

Green on Wilson: "Devyn is an ultra-dynamic player, and her combination of speed and high-average hitting will be incredibly impactful for us. She's going to be fun to watch."

Kayden Purdy
A standout multi-sport athlete, Purdy has earned letters in volleyball, track & field, and softball. The Matthews, N.C., native was recognized as a 2023 All-Conference selection in softball after making an immediate impact as a freshman, leading her team with an impressive .459 batting average.

Green on Purdy: "Kayden brings a powerful left-handed bat to our lineup. Her smooth, strong swing will play well at the next level."

Savannah Lorenzini
Lorenzini helped capture the 2024 Sectional Championship and was named the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year. She is a two-time All-League First Team selection (2023, 2025) and earned recognition from the Sac Bee and West Coast Preps for her outstanding play in 2023. Ranked No. 34 nationally among infielders by Extra Innings Softball, the Rocklin, Calif., native also led the SFL in home runs (10).

Green on Lorenzini: "Savannah has a big swing with tremendous power to all fields and will fit right in with our power offensive game."
