PALM DESERT, Calif. ---- Trace McDonald shot a 65, the lowest score carded in the field on Wednesday, as Coastal Carolina men's golf finished third in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club. A par-72 track playing at 7,305 yards, the course allowed just 12 scores in the 60s in the final round in a field of 90 competitors from 15 schools.
As a team, the Chants carded a 283 in the third round, the second-best day in the field.
Owen Kim wasn't far behind McDonald, carding a 70 while
Drew Sykes shot a 73.
Jack Lee scored a 75 while
Max Bengtsson recorded a 76. On the individual side,
Trey Crenshaw went into the clubhouse with a 74.
Sykes finished the week tied for 10
th, while McDonald closed out the trip to California tied for 16
th in the standings.
