Women’s Tennis to Open Sun Belt Conference Play

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team will open Sun Belt Conference play this weekend, hosting the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and Texas State Bobcats at the Stevens Tennis Complex. The Chanticleers are set to face Louisiana on March 7 at 11 a.m. ET, followed by Texas State on March 9 at 10 a.m. ET.
In their last outing, the Chants swept SCAD 4-0. Coastal secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and two, while Anna Babayan, Brunelle Kouam, and Brooke Rogers each earned singles victories to complete the shutout.
Coastal Carolina enters the weekend with a 5-3 overall record and will look to extend its four-match win streak while maintaining its undefeated 3-0 home record.
Louisiana comes into the matchup at 7-2 overall and riding a five-match win streak. Friday's contest will also serve as the Ragin' Cajuns' Sun Belt opener.
Texas State holds a 9-2 record and has won eight straight matches, including shutouts over UTRGV, UIW, Florida A&M, and Southeast Missouri State.
