CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will hit the road for a three-game series against the Marshall Thundering Herd in Huntington, W.Va., on for April 17–19.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Chanticleers run-ruled the UNCG Spartans, 14–5, in Greensboro, N.C.
- Four different Chants recorded multi-hit games in the outing.
- Libby Pippin tallied a career-high four runs after belting her first grand slam, giving Coastal a 7–1 lead.
- The Chants hit six home runs in the victory, matching the program record for most home runs in a single game.
- McKennah Metzger became the fourth Chant this season to hit home runs in two consecutive at-bats.
HISTORY AGAINST
- Coastal owns a 9–7 all-time record against Marshall.
- In their last meeting, the Chanticleers secured a 2–1 series victory, run-ruling the Thundering Herd, 12–3, in the series finale.
- The series is tied 5–5 over the last 10 matchups, and Coastal will look to improve on its 3–1 record on the road.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Marshall holds a 23–19 record on the season, including a 9–6 mark in Sun Belt Conference play.
- The Thundering Herd snapped Louisiana's 89-series conference win streak to open league play.
