Foley, Ala. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team took down fourth-seeded Mercer 3-2 in the first round of the Sun Belt Championship on Thursday in Foley, Ala. With the victory, the Chants stay in the winners bracket and will face No. 2 Georgia State in the semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m. ET.
Coastal beat Georgia State for the first time in program history with a 3-2 final on April 18 in the Palmetto Invitational. The Chants are looking for their third consecutive Sun Belt tournament championship appearance.
