Four Chanticleers Earn NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Coastal Carolina softball team made history on Thursday as four student-athletes were recognized with NFCA All-Region honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced.
Georgia Hood earned a spot on the NFCA All-Region First Team, becoming the first Chanticleer to receive first-team honors since Meagan Johnson in 2006. Delaney Keith, Nicolette Picone, and Keirstin Roose were named to the Second Team.
With these accolades, Coastal Carolina adds to its 34 all-time NFCA All-Region selections, and this year's four honorees mark the most in a single season in program history.
Hood has been a standout at the plate all season, leading the Chanticleers in batting average (.418), hits (66), and on-base percentage (.542). She has notched 19 multi-hit games, 15 multi-RBI games, and is riding a 22-game on-base streak. The Mount Gambier, Australia, native ranks 24th nationally in on-base percentage and 31st in home runs. Notably, she has delivered the game-winning hit in 13 games this season.
Picone has been a dominant presence in the circle, pitching every inning of Coastal's historic run to its first-ever Sun Belt Conference Tournament title. The Bethpage, N.Y., native has compiled an impressive list of accolades including Sun Belt Tournament Outstanding Player, SBC Elite Award winner, First Team All-Conference, and four-time Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week. She leads the nation with 28 wins, ranks second in complete games (25) and games started (35), and is third in innings pitched (236.0).
Keith has powered the Chanticleers' offense, leading the team with 19 home runs and 49 runs scored. The Nampa, Idaho, native has delivered in key moments, including a clutch two-run homer against No. 9 South Carolina, helping Coastal secure its second top-10 win in program history. Nationally, she ranks 19th in home runs and 23rd in assists (125), and is among the Sun Belt's top 10 in slugging percentage, runs scored, RBIs, doubles, and home runs.
Roose has been a consistent offensive contributor, posting a team-high 18 doubles, two triples, 53 RBIs, and four sacrifice flies. The senior ranks third in Coastal's single-season history for both doubles and sacrifice flies. In 2025, Roose has recorded 16 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI performances, leading the team in both categories.
The Chanticleers will look to build on their momentum as they open NCAA Regional play against the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday, May 16, at 2:30 p.m. ET in the Durham Regional hosted by No. 14 seed Duke.
