CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team is set to open the 2025 season at Winthrop on Aug. 21. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Chant Talk

• Coastal posted a 3-10-3 overall record and went 1-5-3 in Sun Belt Conference play during the 2024 season.
• The Chants will return 10 players from their 2024 roster.
• Chris Filder will serve as interim head coach for the 2025 season after former head coach Shaun Docking retired after 27 years at the helm of the Chanticleers.
• Coastal will return just one goal scorer from the 2024 season in Lincoln Ulrich who netted one goal and recorded one assist on the year.
• The Chants will look to improve on their 1-2-2 road record in 2024.

History Against

• CCU has a 28-13-3 record versus Winthrop.
• Last time out CCU suffered a 2-0 loss to the Eagles.
• The Chants will look to improve on their 13-5-2 home record against the Eagles.
• The first match happened in October 1984 with the Chants dropping the contest 2-1.
• Coastal owns a 7-2-1 record over the last 10 matchups and has outscored the Eagles 22-11 of that same period.

Scouting the Opponent

• In 2024 the Eagles posted a 5-12-1 record going 4-3-0 in Big South Conference play.
• Winthrop lost leading goal scorer Rodrigo Ferreira but will return Bruno Riveron Sagrero who paced the team with three assists.
• Winthrop had six players in Jack Kilstrom, Emory Crichlow, Diego Candia, Bernardo Pacheco, Ryan Armijo and Ethan Marks named to the Big South preseason watchlist.
• Starting keeper Jack Kilstrom will return for the 2025 season. Last year Kilstrom recorded 38 saves and registered one shutout between the pipes.
• Two-time Big South Freshman of the Week and All-Freshman team selection Ryan Armigo will look to build off his 2024 season in which he tallied one goal and one assist for the Eagles.
