Chanticleers Open Two-Game Road Trip At Marshall

CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina will open a two-game Sun Belt road trip Wednesday night with a visit to Huntington, W.Va., to face Marshall at the Cam Henderson Center.

The Chanticleers (9-9, 2-4 SBC) are coming off one of their most complete performances of the season, rallying from a 12-point second-half deficit to defeat App State, 67–62, on Saturday at the HTC Center. Joshua Beadle poured in a career-high 25 points, including three late 3-pointers, and Reggie Hill sealed the win with a driving layup in the final half-minute as Coastal snapped a three-game losing streak. CCU shot over 64 percent from the floor in the second half and finished shooting 50 percent for the game.

Marshall enters the match-up 11-6 overall and 3–2 in Sun Belt play after an 81–73 loss at Georgia State and owns an 8–1 record at home this season. The Thundering Herd are one of the league's most efficient offensive teams, ranking second in the Sun Belt in 3-point percentage (.356) and 3-pointers per game (10.0), while also leading the conference in assists per game (17.4), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.34), blocks per game (5.4) and effective field-goal percentage (.541).

Jalen Speer anchors Marshall's perimeter attack, ranking among the Sun Belt's top three in both 3-pointers made per game (2.71) and 3-point shooting. Matt Van Komen leads the Herd on the interior, averaging 6.9 rebounds per game while also pacing the league in total blocked shots (41) and blocks per game (2.71).

Coastal Carolina counters with one of the league's most disciplined offenses. The Chanticleers are tied with South Alabama for the fewest turnovers per game in the Sun Belt at 10.1, and their starting five of Beadle, AJ Dancler, Hill, Rasheed Jones and Nadjrick Peat accounts for 75 percent of its scoring, averaging 54.4 points per game.

The Herd lead the all-time series 5–1 since joining the Sun Belt for the 2022–23 season, including a 67–62 win in Huntington last season. In that match-up, Coastal led late before Marshall closed the game on a 6–0 run.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:02 p.m. and the game will stream on ESPN+.
