CONWAY - Coastal Carolina women's basketball (8-10, 1-5) returns to the HTC Center to face South Alabama (9-7, 2-4) on Saturday, Jan. 17. Tip-off for both games is set for 1:00 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on ESPN+ as well as the Chanticleer Sports Network.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
- The Chanticleers are one of the highest-volume three-point shooting teams in the country, ranking 17th with 9.2 three-pointers per game and 35th with 25.7 three-point attempts per game.
- Despite a 1-5 conference record, Coastal still ranks as the sixth-best Sun Belt team in the NCAA NET rankings at 120.
- Coastal 1-1 on their road trip last week, defeating Appalachian State 69-53 and falling to Marshall 80-74.
- Against Marshall, Coastal went 25-54 (46%) from the field and 8-21 (38%) from three-point range, while making 16 of 20 free throws.

ABOUT THE JAGUARS
- South Alabama holds a 9-7 overall record and 2-4 in Sun Belt play, currently standing in ninth in the conference standings.
- The Jaguars beat ULM on Saturday, Jan. 10 in Mobile, Ala.
- Cordasia Harris leads the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game.
- Yolisha Jackson is in her third year as the head coach of the Jaguars, going 6-24 last season.

- Coastal will be meeting South Alabama for the 17th time, with the series tied 8-8.

- In her second season with the Chants, graduate guard Kristin Williams had led the Chants in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game.
- Williams has found her groove in Sun Belt play, averaging 16.8 points per game across six conference games.
- She leads the country with 3.3 three-pointers per game and ranks second in the Sun Belt in 3P% (44%) .
- Williams currently has 996 career points during her time at UMass and Coastal.
THREE-POINT PARTY
- Currently, Coastal ranks 17th in the country with 9.2 made three-pointers per game.
- The Chants are also ranked 35th in the country with 25.7 three-point attempts per contest.
- Both Kristin Williams and Tessa Grady rank in the top-25 in the country for made three-pointers, with Williams in second (60) and Grady tied for 23rd (47).
- Williams leads the country with 3.3 three-pointers per game.
COASTAL CHAOS
- Head Coach Kevin Pederson coined the term "Coastal Chaos" prior to last season due to his philosophy of tough defense and forcing teams to be uncomfortable.
- The stats backed up the chaotic defense, as the Chants led the Sun Belt with 20.3 turnovers forced per game and ranked second in steals per game with 10.88.
- This season, Coastal rank 60th in the country with 20.1 turnovers forced per game, and 117th with a turnover margin of 2.2.
PEDERSON REACHES 500
- Coastal Carolina Head Coach Kevin Pederson won his 500th career game on Dec. 29, 2025 against Columbia College.
- He holds 56 victories at Coastal, the fastest coach in program history to reach that mark.
