CONWAY, S.C. – Five Coastal Carolina seniors were selected to serve as team captains for the upcoming 2026 season, head coach
Rachel Shuck Whitten announced Tuesday.
Charlotte Sadler and
Lily Wallace will represent the Chanticleers as captains for the second straight year and will be joined by
Alyson Mascolo,
Sophie Kingsborough and
Grace Lord.
"We're excited to name our captains for 2026," Whitten said. "Charlotte and Lily have been steady leaders for us, and Aly, Sophie and Grace have continued to grow into that role.
"Our captains will lead the way, but we believe leadership comes from everyone in our program. All 32 of our student-athletes have a role in what we're building in our pursuit of a championship."
Sadler is in her fifth season with the Chanticleers and is a two-time All-ASUN selection. Last season, she led the league in minutes played and finished third in goals-against average (13.27) and saves per game (8.06). She is on pace to become the first goalie in program history with 500 career saves, entering the 2026 campaign with 442.
Mascolo and Wallace each earned Second Team All-ASUN honors as juniors. Mascolo was second on the team in goals scored last season with 34, while Wallace led all Coastal position players with 23 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.
Lord started all 17 games last season after transferring from LaSalle. She collected 20 ground balls, caused 18 turnovers, and won 11 draws. Kingsborough scored 14 goals on 25 shots in 17 games played.
The Chanticleers open the 2026 campaign Feb. 6 against Longwood. The game is scheduled for noon at Brooks Stadium.
