CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team opens its 39th spring season on January 24, hosting USC Sumter at 1 p.m. ET at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
- Coastal is coming off a 9–12 season in 2025 that included a run to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2019.
- The Chanticleers went 4–4 in Sun Belt play, earning conference wins over Troy, James Madison, Southern Miss, and Georgia State.
- The 2026 schedule features 22 matches, with nine home contests at the Stevens Tennis Complex and 13 matches on the road.
- Four Chants — Juan Cruz Collardin, Emiliano Gonzalez Balmaceda, Jack Dixon, and Christopher Norlin — were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team after achieving a 3.50 cumulative GPA and competing in at least 70 percent of team matches.
- Christopher Norlin was named the 2025 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and earned All-Sun Belt Second Team honors after posting a 16–8 overall singles record and going 7–7 in dual matches.
- Coastal had two Sun Belt Player of the Week honorees in 2025, with Curzio Manucci selected on March 12 and Emiliano Gonzalez Balmaceda honored on March 19.
- The Chants return seven players from the 2025 roster and add one newcomer, transfer senior Enzo Garutti.
- Garutti spent three seasons at Augusta University, earning two All-Peach Belt Conference First Team selections and the 2023 PBC Freshman of the Year award. He totaled a 29–24 singles record and went 21–31 in doubles play.
- The 2025–26 roster includes eight players: five seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore.
- Coastal features a diverse roster with players representing seven countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, Italy, Sweden, and the United States.
- Head coach Chris Powers enters his 22nd season at the helm and is Coastal Carolina's longest-tenured head coach. He owns a 249–195 overall record, including a 70–58 mark in conference play.
- Former Chant Emiliano Gonzalez Balmaceda returns to the program as a graduate assistant coach after posting a 9–8 singles record and a 10–8 doubles mark during his playing career at Coastal.
- CCU also welcomes volunteer assistant coach Nachi Datar, who brings coaching experience from New York and Saint Louis University.
- During the fall campaign, the Chanticleers compiled a 36–26 singles record and a 28–22 doubles mark.
- In fall play, Norlin led the team in doubles with a 6–2 record, while newcomer Garutti paced the Chants in singles with a 6–3 mark.
