Men's Golf Begins Sun Belt Title Defense Monday

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina begins defense of its Sun Belt Conference title on Monday, teeing off at Annandale Golf Club, a par-72, 7,190-yard course in Madison, Miss.
The Sun Belt Conference will host the four-day event, April 27-30, consisting of 54 holes of stroke play. The 14-team field will play 18 holes per day over the first three days of the championship. The top four teams will then be seeded and advance to two 18-hole match-play semifinals on the final morning, with the winners meeting in an 18-hole match-play championship in the afternoon.
The latest Scoreboard team rankings (April 26), powered by Clippd, list Arkansas State (45) as the top-ranked team in the conference entering the championship. Georgia Southern (53), Southern Miss (66), South Alabama (77), and Coastal Carolina (82) are all ranked in the top 100.
The Chanticleers will field a lineup of Drew Sykes, Max Bengtsson, Jack Lee, Owen Kim, and Lucas Arnsten. Harrison James will serve as the alternate. Coastal Carolina will play alongside Louisiana and South Alabama in the opening round, with the first group set to tee off at 9:30 a.m. ET.
Lee delivered the Chanticleers' second Sun Belt championship last season—the program's first since 2018—by sinking a birdie putt on the first playoff hole to defeat Arkansas State after Coastal Carolina eliminated Troy in the match-play semifinals. The Chants also finished atop the stroke-play leaderboard to earn the No. 1 seed for match play.
Bengtsson tied for 11th at 2-under 214 at the 2025 Sun Belt Championship. Lee finished one stroke behind at 1-under 215 to tie for 15th, while Sykes placed 19th at even-par 216.
