Zuba and Kouam Earn All-Conference Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Coastal Carolina women's tennis student-athletes Diana Zuba and Brunelle Kouam earned All-Sun Belt recognition in the postseason awards, the league announced on Wednesday.

Diana Zuba was named the Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, becoming just the fourth player in Coastal history to achieve this accolade. Zuba was also recognized as an All-Conference Second Team selection.

During the 2026 season, Zuba posted a 13-4 overall record, primarily competing at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots. She held a seven-match win streak from Feb. 7 to March 4. The Morganville, N.J., native earned two Sun Belt regular-season wins, including straight-set singles victories over Polina Gumeniuk in Coastal's 4-3 win over Marshall and Lilly Cvanciger of Arkansas State.

The transfer junior was equally impressive on the doubles court, where she paired with Sarah Clark to post a dominant 8-1 record while earning Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honors on April 8. The duo clinched the doubles point for the Chants in matches against Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, and App State.

Kouam was also highlighted in the postseason awards, earning All-Conference Second Team honors. The sophomore held her own at the top of the lineup, posting a 10-4 singles record while going 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play during the regular season. Kouam defeated Marshall's Johanna Strom, App State's Taya Powell, and Georgia Southern's Franzi Heinermann, all in straight sets.

The Washington, D.C., native held a five-match win streak from Feb. 24 to March 15 and came through in clutch moments for the Chants, clinching the match in Coastal's sweep victory over Charleston Southern.
