GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 contest to the Florida Gators on Thursday evening in Gainesville, Fla.
- With the loss, the Chants fall to 1-1-0 on the season.
- The Gators took a 2-0 lead when Kyra Taylor netted goals in the 21st and 32nd minutes to record a brace.
- The Chants responded when Ava Rodriguez bagged her first collegiate goal off an assist from Luisa Thomas in the 39th minute.
- With just two minutes remaining in the first half, Coastal equalized when Olivia Lawrence ripped the ball into the bottom-right corner to make the score 2-2.
- Florida's Katie Johnston scored the match-winning goal when she found the top-left corner in the 75th minute.
- At the final whistle, the Gators led 19-5 in shots and 17-6 in fouls.
- Aris Lamanna matched her career-high with 10 saves in the outing.
- The Chants will return home to take on Central Michigan at the CCU Soccer Complex on Aug. 23 at noon.
