SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Coastal Carolina rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Wofford 3-2 (18-25, 11-25, 25-14, 28-26, 16-14) Thursday night at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

The Chanticleers improved to 4-2 with their third consecutive victory, while Wofford fell to 5-2.

Anna Rita led Coastal with 14 kills and a .571 hitting percentage while adding three service aces and three blocks. Talia Johnson finished with a team-high 16 kills and hit .353, while Natalie Hughes added 11 kills and three blocks.

After dropping the opening two sets, Coastal responded by hitting .312 in the third set and cruising to a 25-14 victory. The Chants then fought off Wofford in a back-and-forth fourth set, recording 17 kills and hitting .297 to pull out a 28-26 win and force a deciding fifth set.

Coastal completed the comeback with a 16-14 victory in the fifth. The Chants hit .292 in the final frame and finished the match with a .212 hitting percentage.

Hatteras Welker totaled seven kills, five blocks and one service ace, while Isabele Filardo contributed seven kills, four digs and two blocks. Viara Parapunova added six kills.

Kaylee Musick directed the offense with 28 assists and collected 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Bella Loeswick handed out 21 assists, and Jonna Spohn finished with a match-high 21 digs and two service aces. Johnson added 14 digs to record her first collegiate double-double.

Coastal held a 10-8 advantage in total blocks and finished with seven service aces. The Chants also committed just two attacking errors over the final two sets.

Natalie Arnold led Wofford with 17 kills, while Laney Kilka recorded a match-high 23 digs.

Coastal Carolina returns to action Saturday when it visits No. 17 Tennessee. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Knoxville, Tenn., with the match streaming on SEC Network+.
