Volleyball Heads to Wofford, No. 17 Tennessee

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team continues its five-match road stretch with matches at Wofford and No. 17 Tennessee this week.
The Chanticleers will face Wofford at 6 p.m. Thursday at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C., before traveling to Knoxville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee at 3 p.m. Saturday inside Food City Center.
Thursday's match will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Saturday's contest will air on SEC Network+.
Coastal (3-2) enters the week riding a two-match winning streak after defeating Jacksonville and Florida A&M at last weekend's Dolphin Volleyball Classic. The Chants opened the tournament with a five-set loss to UConn before posting consecutive four-set victories.
Anzley Rinard leads the Coastal attack with 73 kills and 3.48 kills per set. She recorded a team-high 42 kills during the three-match tournament, including 16 against UConn and 15 against Jacksonville.
Natalie Hughes has added 51 kills while hitting .294, while Hatteras Welker has recorded 45 kills with a .280 hitting percentage. The duo also ranks among Coastal's leaders at the net, with Welker totaling 23 blocks and Hughes adding 22.
Kaylee Musick was named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week after averaging 8.38 assists and 1.92 digs per set in Jacksonville. She recorded double-doubles against UConn and Florida A&M, including a career-high 43 assists and a season-high 11 digs against the Rattlers.
Coastal is limiting its opponents to a .148 hitting percentage through five matches. The Chants also hold a 52-39 advantage in total blocks and have recorded 44 service aces.
Freshman Talia Johnson posted career highs of 17 kills and a .382 hitting percentage in the victory over Florida A&M, while Amarah Johnson finished with a career-best seven blocks.
Scouting Wofford
Wofford enters Thursday's match with a 5-1 record after winning two of three matches at last weekend's NC State Tournament. The Terriers swept Charlotte and George Washington, with their only loss coming in five sets against NC State.
Wofford is hitting .247 as a team and averaging 13.18 kills per set. Chloe Smith leads the Terriers with 72 kills, while Natalie Arnold has 69 kills and a .371 hitting percentage. Bradley Brown has added 64 kills while hitting .369. Laney Klika leads the defensive effort with 5.41 digs per set.
Coastal leads the all-time series 5-1, but Wofford won the most recent meeting in five sets on Sept. 9, 2022, in Charleston, S.C. Thursday will mark Coastal's first visit to Wofford since defeating the Terriers 3-1 on Sept. 12, 1995.

Tennessee setter Caroline Kerr was named the SEC Co-Setter of the Week after averaging 11.27 assists per set through the Lady Vols' first five matches. Outside hitter Kennedi Rogers earned SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors, while middle blocker Jolene Oddo was selected as the conference's Freshman of the Week.
Former Coastal Carolina standout Jalyn Stout is in her first season at Tennessee and recorded 10 kills, three blocks and an ace against Pitt.
