Cross Country Season Begins with Elon Opener

ELON, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men and women's cross country team will begin their season with the Elon Opener in Elon, N.C. on Friday. The women will run the 4k at 8:15 ET and the men will run the 6k at 8:45 ET.
Men's Notes
- Senior Adam Groves took home the win in last year's running of the Elon Opener, finishing with a personal-best 6k time of 18:19.8, the second-fastest 6k in school history.
- Sophomores Thomas Nitz, Owen Mullins, Calvin Dovgalyuk and Jacob Barraza look to build off strong freshman campaigns after all four qualified for regionals.
Women's Notes
- The Chants welcome back eight returners to this year's group, including graduate student Olivia Fischlein, seniors Megan Dolan, Olivia Goeser, and Erin McQuitty, juniors Jenna Land and Bethany Simpson, and sophomores Zoe Brandt and Kylie Davis.
