Al Jean spent seven years as the head strength and conditioning coach at Coastal Carolina University, working with all of the school’s 16 programs prior to the addition of football.Jean has extensive experience in the college and professional sports ranks.
Prior to arriving at CCU, he was the strength and conditioning coach and assistant baseball coach at Eastern Kentucky University for two years. Recently, he worked on the strength staffs at the mini and training camps for the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars (2003-present) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1998-2001), as well as numerous collegiate strength and speed camps across the country. He was also on the strength and baseball staffs at Salem-Teikyo University and Merrimack College and has worked in private personal training and fitness instruction during his career.
Jean is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Strength Professionals Association. He is also experienced as a United States Bobsled recruiting instructor. He is a graduate of the University of Vermont in 1986.Jean and his wife, Sue, reside
