Kelly Moore

Kelly Moore was named the executive director of the Chanticleer Athletic Foundation (CAF) a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides fiduciary responsibility for all gifts and donations given in support of CCU Athletics in February 2021. She will direct the CAF staff and work closely with the foundation’s 25-member board of directors.

Moore will report to CCU President Michael T. Benson, Director of Athletics Matt Hogue, and the CAF’s board. She will also serve on the University’s Executive Council.

Moore brings nearly 16 years of university and non-profit experience to the position. Since July 2016, she served as a CAF director of development. During that time, she was instrumental in securing the $1.5 million naming rights gift for the Marrio and Josh Norman Field House and played a key role in the design, opening, and management of the West Zone premium suite at Brooks Stadium, including the sales and marketing plan.

Moore spearheaded a 40 percent increase in revenue from the annual Chanticleer Gala from 2016 to 2019 and developed a successful virtual auction when last year’s gala was canceled due to COVID-19.

In addition, she led an increase in membership of the Student Chanticleer Athletic Foundation from 119 in 2016 to 402 in 2018. Stemming from her passion to enhance the student experience, she created, implemented, and supervised the CAF Ambassador program, an internship in conjunction with the University’s Recreation and Sport Management program. The program provides students with experiential learning by supporting the donor experience and helping to facilitate donor events.

Moore serves on the CCU Staff Senate and is the Sun Belt Conference representative for the National Association of Athletic Development Directors.

Prior to joining the CAF, Moore was the coordinator of spirit and promotions and the head cheerleading coach at James Madison University (JMU). She coordinated marketing, fan engagement, and spirit squads while serving as the on-field host for all home football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball games. After graduating from CCU in 2005, she served as CCU’s marketing and sponsorship assistant, on-field hostess, and head cheerleading coach.

Moore earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in recreation and sport management at CCU, where she also was a captain of the cheerleading team. She earned a master’s degree in sport and recreation leadership from JMU.
