Senior Infielder Earns Second Honor This Season
CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina softball outfielder Holly Lee (Darlington, S.C.-Darlington) was named Big South Softball Player of the Week, Apr. 28. This is the second time this season that Lee has earned the award, with Coastal’s eight weekly Big South honors this season the most of any conference school.
Lee hit a school-record four home runs, finishing 5-for-6 with a walk, four runs scored and 10 RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Winthrop. Lee had two-run home runs in her first at-bat of each game of the doubleheader, with the second going a school-record 284 feet on to the CCU tennis courts. The four home runs gave her a total of 15 for the season, tying the school’s single-season home run record, after having previously captured the CCU career record earlier this season. For the week, Lee hit .583 (7-for-12) with four home runs, 11 RBIs and a 1.583 slugging percentage. She also added a pair of walks for an on-base percentage of .600 and had a sacrifice fly.
Wrapping up the regular season, Coastal Carolina (33-14) will honor its seven seniors prior to Wednesday’s (April 30) doubleheader with #16 South Carolina. First pitch at Coastal Softball Field is scheduled for 4 p.m. Coastal has already secured the top seed for the upcoming Big South Conference Softball Tournament, May 8-10, in Rock Hill, S.C.
