UPDATE: Chants Outright BSC Champs, Tourney Pairings Announced

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina claimed the Big South Conference regular-season softball title by itself on Sunday and the league announced the pairings for next week's Big South Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting.
The No. 1 seed Chanticleers, who finished 34-20 and 19-5 in conference play, will face either No. 8 seed Presbyterian or No. 9 seed Charleston Southern on Thursday, May 9 at 2:30 p.m. in their opening game of the double-elimination tournament in Rock Hill.
Presbyterian (7-16 BSC) and Charleston Southern (6-17 BSC) will meet in a single elimination play-in game Thursday morning at 9 a.m. That game will be followed by No. 4 Radford taking on fifth-seeded and host Winthrop at 12 p.m.
Thursday's other opening day matchups feature No. 2 Campbell (18-6 BSC) against No. 7 Gardner-Webb (8-16 BSC) at 5 p.m., followed by No. 3 Longwood (16-8 BSC) taking on No. 6 Liberty (8-16 BSC) at 7:30 p.m.
Coastal, which earned the regular-season title outright after Campbell lost to Longwood 7-2 in Sunday's season-finale, swept three games against both Presbyterian and Charleston Southern during the regular season. Depending on the outcome of their Thursday game, the Chants will play at either 2 p.m. or 9 a.m. on Friday, and face Radford or Winthrop.
Coastal is seeking its second straight Big South Tournament title, a conference-record seventh overall and a repeat trip to the NCAA Regionals.
The tournament's winner-take-all championship game will be played Sunday, May 12 at 12 p.m. and air nationally on ESPNU.
