CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina softball team posted a 5-1 victory over Radford Sunday afternoon to complete its fourth straight Big South series sweep and 11th consecutive conference victory.
Morgan Noad hit a three-run homer, while Kiana Quolas also homered and pitched a four-hitter as the Chanticleers (26-17, 12-2) notched their eighth straight victory overall and 13th in the last 15 contests.
Quolas (14-10) is now tied for third on the Big South's all-time wins list with 87. She struck out six in the game while walking just one.
The three RBIs for Noad gave her 42 for the season and 130 for her career, moving her up to sixth place on the program's list. Her homer came in the first inning and gave the Chants a quick 3-0 lead. Bri Chiusano reached on an error and Kory Hayden walked before Noad hammered one out to center for her 16th of the season.
Coastal made it a 4-0 advantage in the second as walks to Maicie Hahn and Quolas around a bunt single by Chiusano loaded the bases and Hayden hit a sacrifice fly to center.
Quolas added her fifth homer of the season and 27th of her career leading off the fourth, as she fouled off five straight pitches before hitting a bullet over the left-field fence. It upped the Chants' season total to 68, just two shy of equaling the school record with 11 regular-season games left on the schedule.
In the circle, the only blemish for Quolas came on a home run in the sixth inning. Aside from that, she allowed just scattered singles in the second, third and fourth. Coastal's defense helped out with inning-ending double plays in the second and third frames.
The Chanticleers had five hits against two Radford pitchers, with Sara Rasley collecting her eighth double and Amanda Daneker adding a single. The walk allowed Hayden to reach base in her 22nd consecutive game.
Coastal is scheduled to play two midweek non-conference games, playing host to South Carolina Tuesday at 5 p.m., before traveling to College of Charleston for a makeup game Wednesday at 4 p.m.
