MOBILE, ALA. – On Saturday, the Sun Belt Championships saw the Coastal Carolina men's team pick up its third consecutive Sun Belt Championship individual award and for the second consecutive season junior
Nadeel Wildschutt earned that honor as Sun Belt champion and Runner of the Year.
Overall the men's and women's cross country teams placed four runners on the 2018 All-Sun Belt Conference teams. Nadeel and
Adriaan Wildschutt earned first team honors,
Hutson Baumann for the men and
Lisha van Onselen for the women each won second team awards.
Men's Results
Nadeel's time of 24:05.80, knocked off just under three seconds from his previous personal best of 24:08.10 that occurred in early October at the Winthrop Invitational, earning him his fourth first-place finish of the season.
Adriaan followed eight-tenths of second behind his brother and took his fourth second-place finish of 2018. His time of 24:06.60 knocked off over five seconds of his previous best of 24:11.97, set two weeks ago at the VertCross Invitational at High Point University.
At the splits of the 2K and 4K, Adriaan was just tad bit faster than his brother, making it a first time occurrence in any 2018 race. 2K (5:46.60 to 5:46.70) and 4K (11:53.80 to 11:54.10).
Baumann finished seventh overall and a time of 25:08.20, setting a season-best time, and making it the second consecutive time the junior finished in the top 10.

Overall, the men placed fourth out of ten teams with 92 points, improving three spots from a season ago.
Women's Results
Lisha van Onselen was the Chanticleers best performer as she finished seventh overall with a time of 17:50.90, giving her the honor of second team All-Sun Belt.
As the race went on van Onselen's splits improved her positioning. At the 2K mark, she's was in tenth with at time of 6:54.30, one and one-tenth seconds behind the sixth-place runner, Kendra Long of Texas State. At 4K, van Onselen and Long were virtually neck and neck, both having a time of 14:13.60.
With her time on Saturday, the senior set her best 5K time of 2018 by a minute and ten seconds. On October 5, the South Africa native ran 19:03.10 at the Winthrop Invitational.
Freshman
Laura Croll and junior
Alyssa LeClaire placed in the top 35 for the Chanticleers and set season-best times. Croll finished 28
th overall with at time of 18:50.00 and LeClaire placed 34
th at 19:01.70.

Leone, Delaplaine, Lemon and, the aforementioned Croll set personal-bests in Saturday's championship race.
The women finished six out of 12 teams with 179 points, moving up one spot from 2017.
Concluding the days events, the coaches voted on Sun Belt post season yearly awards. Along with knowing the all-conference teams determined by placement, The Chanticleers'
Adriaan Wildschutt also took home two post season awards for the school as he was named as Freshman and Newcomer of the Year.
