Captains Named for the 2019 Chanticleer Women’s Lacrosse Season

Coastal to Have a New Look
CONWAY – Head coach Kristen Selvage and the Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team recently selected the captains for the 2019 season. Seniors Haley Kyger and Madeline Bromley, as well as two juniors Megan Kilpatrick and Lyla Robinson were tabbed captains.
All four players helped contribute to a second-place finish in the regular season and a second consecutive run to the finals of the ASUN Championship last season, which saw the Chanticleers go 10-9 overall and 4-1 in conference action.
Kyger finished second on the team with 66 points on 43 goals and 23 assists, capping off the solid season being named first team ASUN All-Conference and All-Academic. The Edgewood, Md. native tallied 10 points on nine goals and one assist, and also won six draw controls and scooped up two ground balls while causing two turnovers over two games to earn her first ASUN Player of the Week award on April 17.
A Cary, N.C. native, Bromley started all 19 games last season and was fourth on the team with 41 points, tallying 15 goals and 26 assists. Bromley was one of two Chants to earn unanimous selection on the ASUN All-Academic team, joining Kyger.
Kilpatrick started all 19 games and earned first team ASUN All-Conference accolades as a defender. The Pennsauken, N.J. defender tallied two goals on the season while scooping up 27 ground balls and causing 12 turnovers.
A sophomore attacker from Reisterstown, Md., Robinson garnered one start while seeing action in all 19 games. Robinson had three multi-goal (two goals in each) games, with the match against Delaware State being her best to date (two goals and four assists). She also tallied two three-assist games versus George Mason and Stetson.
"We are blessed to have such a variety of personality and leadership in this group of captains. They have the right blend of charisma and focus which will lend to us having a very successful and competitive year together," said coach Selvage regarding the captains. "Each of them is an advisor to our team in their own way and all of them are primed and ready to take on the ASUN this upcoming season. We couldn't be happier with their guidance so far this fall season."
Along with the new leadership, the Chanticleers will have a new look with an all-black uniform with white numbers and teal outline, as well as a teal skirt to throw into the mix.
