Hogan Named Assistant Lacrosse Coach

CONWAY, S.C. – Kaelin Hogan has joined the Coastal Carolina lacrosse program as an assistant coach, first-year head coach Abby Thorne announced Friday. Hogan is the first addition to Thorne's staff since she took over the program earlier this month.
Hogan comes to Coastal Carolina following three seasons as an assistant coach at East Carolina from 2024–26. Under her tutelage, the Pirates doubled their win total from her first season on staff to her third.
"I'm incredibly excited to welcome Kaelin to our staff," Thorne said. "She brings a wealth of experience, a passion for coaching and a true love for the game. Her energy, knowledge and ability to connect with student-athletes will make an immediate impact on our program."
Hogan coached East Carolina's first American Defensive Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year in 2025. Thirteen Pirates earned all-conference honors during her tenure, while she also helped the program set a record for American conference victories.
Before joining East Carolina, Hogan spent three seasons at Roger Williams University, where she helped guide the Hawks to three consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021, 2022 and 2023. She also helped coach the first two IWLCA All-Americans in program history in 2021 and 2023.
Hogan began her coaching career as an assistant at Bridgewater State in 2019. The Bears finished the season with a 12-5 overall record, went 5-1 in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference and placed second in the league standings.
Before entering the coaching ranks, Hogan was a standout player at Roger Williams. She was a two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year and a two-time IWLCA All-Pilgrim Region Second Team selection. As a senior, she broke her own single-season program record with 115 points.
Hogan finished her career tied for the Roger Williams record with 220 goals and established the program record with 359 points.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Roger Williams in 2018.
