Chanticleers Tabbed to Finish Seventh in Sun Belt Preseason Coaches’ Poll

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The Coastal Carolina men's and women's cross country teams were chosen to finish seventh in the 2018 Sun Belt Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was announced by the conference on Wednesday.
On the men's side, the Chanticleers return two all-conference performers in Nadeel Wildschutt and Hutson Baumann. Both men garnered spots on the top seven men's returners to watch list.
Wildschutt looks to build off his success from the 2017 season, where he finished first in multiple races earning him several awards including Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and Sun Belt Freshman of the Year.
For the women, Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and Sun Belt All-Conference First Team performer Lisha van Onselen is back and earned a stop on the top seven women's returners to watch list. Van Onselen finished second overall at the 2017 Sun Belt Championships in Boone.
Both teams open the 2018 season at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 1 in Columbia, S.C.
