CONWAY
- Coastal Carolina Chanticleer Head Softball Coach Kelley Green announced the  54-game, 2020 schedule that features 30 home games and four games against Power Five schools.

Green, in her 10th season at CCU, led the Chants to a 39-21 overall record last season, including getting to the 2019 Sun Belt Championship game for the first time in the school's history.

As well as facing four Power Five opponents, Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Iowa, the 2020 Sun Belt Conference season features a slate of 24 contests against Sun Belt foes.

The Chants will open the season at home as they host the 2020 Residence Inn Kickin' Chicken Classic from Feb. 7-9. Coastal will take on Virginia Tech, Iowa, East Carolina and former Big South foe Campbell.

The following weekend (Feb. 14-16), Coastal will host the 2020 Residence Inn Battle at the Beach, as they face-off with in-state rival College of Charleston, Northern Illinois, Jacksonville State, and Delaware State.

On Feb. 21-23, the Chants will host the 2020 Chanticleer Showdown as they will play on Seton Hall, Iona, and UMBC.

The Chants will squeeze in their first road contest of the season when they travel to Presbyterian College on Feb. 25, but just three days later they will host their fourth and final tournament as they take on Ohio, USC Upstate, and Monmouth as part of the 2020 Courtyard Marriot Barefoot Landing Invitational on Feb. 28-March 1.

The Chanticleers will then travel to Rock Hill, S.C. on March 4 to take on another of their former Big South opponents in the Winthrop Eagles.

Coastal returns home on March 6-8 to start the Sun Belt portion of their schedule with three consecutive games against Louisiana.

CCU and the Ragin' Cajuns played five games in 2019, as well as meeting two times in the 2019 Sun Belt Softball Championship Tournament. The last time Louisiana visited Conway was in 2018 when the two teams played three games that ended with a 4-2 final score. The Chants took the second game of the series as it marked the first time they defeated a top 25 team since March 6, 2004.

On March 10, the Chants will host their third mid-week game of the season as South Carolina visits St. John Stadium for the first time since 2017. Last season, the Chanticleers fell to the Gamecocks by a score of 7-4 in Columbia, S.C. The Chants came up short in the seventh inning as they had USC on the ropes with the bases loaded but could only manage one run.

The Chanticleers will end the week on the road against conference opponent Texas State from March 13-15. Coastal was able to win 2-of-3 games versus the Bobcats in 2019.

Coastal will host their longest homestand of the season as Florida State, Georgia Southern, and College of Charleston visit teal nation on March 17-24.

The 2018 National Champions and last season's No.4 team in the nation, the Florida State Seminoles will begin the five-game homestand on March 17 in a mid-week game. The Chants and the Noles have faced nine times in the past with FSU getting the better of CCU each time.

Georgia Southern and the College of Charleston will conclude the homestand with four games in five days.

March 27 starts three consecutive games at Troy. The Trojans took the season series, winning each of the three games, but the Chants were able to pull off an upset victory over Troy in the Sun Belt tournament.

Coastal will host home games between March 31 and April 5. The string begins with Charleston Southern on March 31. CCU will return to conference play to end the weekend on Apr. 5 against the UT Arlington Mavericks on April 3-5.

On Easter weekend, the Chanticleers will travel to Louisiana Monroe starting on April 9. The teal and bronze won 3-of-4 games against the Warhawks including a nine-inning, 4-2 semifinal game in the conference tournament.

Coastal Carolina will play its last mid-week contest on April 14 as they travel to UNC Wilmington and will end that week on the road in conference play against Georgia State for three games on Apr. 17-20.

Before the Chanticleers wrap up the regular season on the road at Appalachian State on April 30-May 2, the Chanticleers play host to South Alabama for their final home conference series of the season on April 24-26.

The 2020 Sun Belt Tournament will be hosted at Georgia State University on May 6-9.
