ACS Invite Day 3 Results

MYRTLE BEACH – Junior Connor Langdon picked up a first-place finish on Saturday on Day 3 of the Alan Connie Invitational part of the men's high jump.  

Men

The combined events athlete finished with 2.11 meters on his seventh attempt. The Manorville, New York athlete also competed in the shot put where he finished with a distance of 10.12 meters.

Also in the shot put, freshman Stephen Kirkwood placed in the top 20 with a throw of 12.56 meters

In the 100 meters, junior Devin Pringle finished the final round in fourth place with a time of 10.94.

Veterans Andrew Southard and Cameron Butler picked up top 15 finishes in the 800 meters. The junior Southard came in fourth with a time of 1:54.92. The sophomore Butler finished with a time of 1:58.11.

Andrew Avery took part in the Jamie McCarthy Mile and the sophomore placed 14th with a time of 4:32.85. Teammate Michael Pieterse placed in the top 20 as he finished at 4:34.07.

Donavan Goode competed in his first 200 meter event of his career as the freshman came in tenth place  with a time of 22.40 (1.8).

The triple jump event saw two freshman Chants place inside the top 10 as Richie Sadler placed fifth with a jump of 13.90 (2.4) meters. Jalen Parrish came in tenth with a distance of 13.32 (0.1) meters.

Freshman Ryan Wheaton added a top ten finish in the discus with a throw of 42.43 meters.

Also freshman Zahir Scott (52.08) competed in his first 400 meter event and Zackery White competed in his second career event. (52.73).

Women

Junior Alyssa LeClaire came in seventh place in the mile with a time of 5:20.94.

Senior Sarah Lemon recorded a personal best time in 3000-meter steeplechase with a time 11:59.96 good for fourth place.

The Coastal men in the three-day Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational finished in sixth place out of 20 teams for 11 points. The women placed 13 of 20 for four points.

The Chanticleers return to competition next weekend as they travel in-state to Rock Hill, South Carolina for the Winthrop Open.
