In the last two weeks of Sun Belt play, Smith has batted .400 (6-for-15) with three home runs, six runs batted in, and six walks.

In the pitching department, sophomore Kaitlin Beasley-Polko added two wins, including her 14th complete game of the season, and her conference leading fourth save of the year over the weekend.

Lead-off hitter Leah Murray went 6-for-8 in the sweep, picking up three runs, two runs batted in, and four stolen bases.

Murray is the third leading base stealer in the conference with 18.

The senior is also the second leading hitter on the Tar Heel squad, behind Kiana Ramsey (.393), with a .358 batting average and has a team-leading 22 steals.

The Tar Heels also features a lineup led by All-ACC Conference player Brittany Pickett. Last year, Pickett earned her all-conference award for the second time by making 37 starts in the circle and playing in 55 games overall.

In the circle, the junior had a record of 28-12 and posted an earned run average of 2.29.  At the plate, Pickett hit .313 with eight home runs and 25 RBI.

This season, the lefty continues to be effective on the rubber and at the plate. In nine starts, Pickett has a record of 7-2 in 54 innings with 50 strikeouts.

With only five games worth of at-bats, Pickett is 6-for-9 with three doubles and two home runs.
