Charting the Chants
- The Chanticleers are 26-18-1 overall this season and 11-9 in Sun Belt Conference play entering the three-game series this weekend at home versus Louisiana.
- CCU has gone just 3-7 over its last 10 games and finished the month of April going just 6-10 overall.
- The Chanticleers are 16-7 at home this season but have gone 5-6 over the last two months at home after opening the season at 11-1 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Looking at Louisiana
- The Ragin' Cajuns enter play this weekend at 20-27 overall and 8-13 in the Sun Belt.
- Louisiana is on a season-high seven-game losing streak and have been swept in each of its last two conference series at UTA (April 18-20) and versus Texas State (April 26-28).
- Prior to their current skid, the Ragin' Cajuns won three-straight games, two over South Alabama (April 13-14) and one at nationally-ranked LSU (April 16).
- In true road games this season, Louisiana is just 6-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
All-Time Series History
- Coastal trails Louisiana 2-3-1 in the all-time series, as the two teams have met for a three-game conference series in each of the last two years.
- The two teams split the first two games of the conference three-game series at Coastal in 2017 before playing to a 7-7 tie in the rubber match in the Sunday series finale due to the drop-dead time for travel.
- Last season, the Ragin' Cajuns won each of the first two games on their home turf to take the series, however, the Chants took game three 10-3 to hold off the series sweep.

- For the first time in the series history between the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, neither team is nationally ranked. In 2017, both teams were ranked nationally, as Coastal Carolina was No. 26 overall while Louisiana was ranked No. 20. Last year, Coastal Carolina was ranked No. 15 nationally when the two teams met at Russo Park in Lafayette, La.
- Coastal Carolina has two home conference series left this season with the three-game slate this weekend versus Louisiana and then the regular-season finale versus Appalachian State on May 16-18 at Springs Brooks Stadium.
- Coastal has three players ranked among the top 10 in batting average in the Sun Belt this season. Kieton Rivers (.358) is second in the league in hitting, while Jake Wright (.341) and Scott McKeon (.337) rank eighth and 10th overall in the Sun Belt, respectively.
- Coastal's offense scored a total of 44 runs last weekend in the three-game series at Georgia State (April 26-28). The Chants scored a season-high 27 runs in game one, added six more runs in Saturday's extra-inning win and then concluded the weekend with 11 more runs in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.

- The magic number for CCU this season is six - as in six runs. Coastal is 24-5 overall on the year when scoring six runs or more in a game and just 2-13-1 when scoring less than six runs. When holding its opponents to six runs or less, the Chants are 18-4-1, yet are only 8-14 when allowing six runs or more for the game.
- Coastal's Scott McKeon drove in a career-high seven RBIs in the Chants' 27-2 win over Georgia State on Friday night, April 26. The seven RBIs are the most by a player in a single game this season and is second only to Brandon Powell's eight RBIs versus Purdue back on March 16, 2002.
- Coastal has had eight different pitchers make a start on the mound for them this season in Zach McCambley (9), Austin Kitchen (9), Anthony Veneziano (8), Garrett McDaniels (7), Nick Parker (6), Scott Kobos (3), Matt Eardensohn (2) and Bobby Holmes (1).
- This season, the Chants are averaging 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings this season which leads the Sun Belt and ranks 43rd nationally. A total of 10 different pitchers have fanned more batters than then innings pitched on the year, while the Chants also lead the Sun Belt in batters struck out with 412 overall on the season.
- The Chanticleers have just 10 regular season games remaining enter play this weekend.
