Men's Soccer Adds 16 to 2019 Roster

Head Coach Shaun Docking has added 16 newcomers to the 2019 edition of the Coastal Carolina men's soccer program.

Claudio Repetto
Arriving at the beginning of the spring semester, Claudio will enter his first fall season as a Chanticleer. Originally from Genova Italy, Claudio has experience playing in the Serie D league along with two seasons at Grand View University (NAIA). Over the summers, he has scored big goals for both Med City (NPSL) & Ocean City (USL2).  Everywhere Claudio has gone he has had individual success. He is currently ranked #3 in goals scored for all the of the USL2 while playing with the Ocean City Nor'easters.  His physical presence, work rate and nose for the goal will be fun to watch this fall season.

Docking on Claudio: "Claudio isn't afraid of hard work and knows how to grind out a win.  He has been a great addition for us this spring and is a mature and experienced player that is hungry to succeed.  We are looking forward to seeing all his past experiences aid him for us this fall season."
 
Nicholas Itopoulos
Arriving at the beginning of the spring semester, Nicholas will enter his first fall season as a Chanticleer. Having previously started 29 games at Salem University during his the 2017 and 2018 seasons, he is without a doubt an experienced addition to the team. He is currently tied for fifth in starts this season with Med City FC in the NPSL. His physical presence, soccer IQ, and leadership qualities are expected to pay great dividends for the Chants this fall.

Docking on Nicholas: "Nicholas has learned a lot with us this past spring semester. We fully expect him to come in with veteran characteristics this fall and immediately help us shore things up in the back. He is a natural leader and we are excited to have him."
 
Marcelo Lage
Arriving at the beginning of the spring semester, Marcelo will enter his first fall season as a Chanticleer. Coming from George Washington University, Marcelo earned 17 starts as a true freshman and logged a team-high 1,557 minutes on defense.  He comes in as a top Division 1 transfer with a lot of experience at a young age. He is a very intelligent defender that will also be very dangerous on attacking set pieces for the Chanticleers this upcoming fall.

Docking on Marcelo: "For Marcelo I think the sky is the limit. He's got great size, is eager to learn and will help on both sides of the ball this year. He has a very bright future ahead of him as he continues to grow into his role."
 
Austin D'Anna
Arriving at the beginning of the spring semester from Boston University, Austin is a versatile attacking player that works extremely hard. Coming back from an injury, Austin will provide the Chanticleers with more fire power up top. Austin knows how to find the back of the net and has proven that with his past teams.

Docking on Austin: "When it comes to Austin, he checks all of the boxes for physical attributes. He is fast, strong, and tall but along with all of those traits he has fantastic character. He doesn't cut corners and he is eager to help his teammates. Austin can be a real sleeping giant for our team and I know he is eager to make his presence felt."

Michael Boakye
Having played over 40 games with Tyler Junior College and winning two national championships, Michael is a must watch player. He is without a doubt an exciting addition to the Chanticleers and can do some special things on both sides of the ball. Michael is a mature, proven winner, and he knows how to control the pace of a game.

Docking on Michael: "Michael is a guy that we have had our eye on for some time now. He can destroy the oppositions attack and he can also control the pace of the game and help your team in possession. He is a leader with an extreme competitiveness that I expect will be firing on all cylinders with his first steps on campus."

Sam Snaith:
Sam is a highly sought after Welshman with that has scored goals for his youth national team. He is known for finding the back of the net early and often. Sam is a strong attacking player who has a history for scoring goals and will be overwhelming opponents' backline.

Docking on Sam: "Sam is the type of player that you can't afford to pass up on.  He can impose his will on any defense in the country with his strength and size.  He will give us a good bite up front and create some good attacking opportunities for our team."
 
Alberto Ciroi:
A former All-American and three-year starter for Baker University (NAIA) and a two-year starter for Duluth FC (NPSL), Alberto is a mature goalkeeper that has a great internal drive and desire to be a professional player. Alberto has experienced much success in the NAIA division helping Baker University to an NAIA #4 ranking at their peak in 2018. He also has experience in Italy's Serie D league and is known for saving penalties.

Docking on Alberto: "Alberto is coming here on a mission and has a small window to do it. He has one year of eligibility left and he wants to make it count on the Division 1 national stage. He is comfortable with the ball at his feet and he knows how to make a big save. There isn't any question about his maturity and leadership qualities which I believe will aid in our team goals immediately."
 
Kasper Skraep:
Having grown up playing in one of the best academies in Denmark, Kapser is very technically and tactically clean. He was called into the Full Danish Men's National Team against Slovakia later in 2018. Additionally he has played his youth career in Odense Boldklub, one of the best academies in Denmark. Recently, Kasper has moved to a team in the Danish 2nd division. He is a strong and athletic defender that competes from the first whistle to the last.

Docking on Kasper: "Kasper has had a lot of success in Denmark and he comes highly recommended to us. It's very rare that a young player with a full national team cap wants to study in college, so we are delighted to have him. He carries himself in a professional manner and is clear about his goals and objectives. With Kasper's soccer IQ and athleticism, I am confident that he will help strengthen our backline and give us a chance in tight games."
 
Thomas Zinngrebe:
Thomas is a goalkeeper from Bethesda SC Academy and Walter Johnson High School who has a huge upside. He has good athleticism and composure in his box. Thomas knows how to make a big save in big moments which will aid the Chanticleers this season. With a big frame and time on his side, the future is very bright for the true freshman.

Docking on Thomas: "Thomas is a promising young goalkeeper with a big frame and even bigger potential. He comes from a competitive academy program, so competing won't be anything new to him. There are a lot of good pieces in his game already and we are excited to have Thomas with us for four years!"
 
Martin Rydningen:
Arriving from Tromsø, Norway, Martin is versatile midfielder who enjoys being on the ball. His experience playing in the Norwegian 3rd tier league will help him adjust to playing Division 1 soccer with the Chanticleers this fall. Martin is a mentally tough player that has a great engine and enjoys being on the ball.

Docking on Martin: "Martin is a player that was recommended to us by a very good former player of our Ridge Robinson.  Our former players know what it takes to be successful here at CCU, so it always makes us as a staff more comfortable with the decision making process. Martin has played at a good level back in Norway against men, and has great versatility to his game. I think he will surprise a lot of people when we get the season kicked off."
 
Archie Filliter:
A captain and starter for Louisburg Community College, Archie comes to CCU with the experience that the team is looking for. Archie helped his team finish the regular season in first place and accumulate a 16-2-2 record last season from the outside back position. This summer, he is playing with Wake FC in the USL2 league. Archie has great competitiveness and an engine that doesn't stop.

Docking on Archie: "Archie was the captain at a very good Louisburg College program. He is a very fit player that enjoys getting forward and making plays in wide areas. Archie popped up on our radar this spring as he stood out against some Division 1 competition. We are excited to have Archie begin his D1 career with us this fall as we feel he has the tools to make be a very good outside back for us."
 
Danny Cabrera:
Danny comes to CCU as a transfer from the University of South Florida. He spent most of his youth years playing for the Texas Rush Academy where he was able to get invited to two national team camps in Frisco, Dallas and Carson, Calif. In 2016, Danny went to Guadalajara, Mexico and played for Club Deportivo Chivas with their U16/U17 academies. One year later, he came back to the states to get his high school diploma in Orlando, Fla. where he played with the Orlando City DA.  Danny is a technical midfielder who can really link up play for the Chanticleers this fall.

Docking on Danny: "Danny is a technical and intelligent soccer player. He has four years of eligibility and already a year of college experience under his belt. He has a lot of potential and we are excited to begin working with him here at CCU."
 
Antonio La Gamba:
Antonio has spent his last two years in Italy training and gaining experience with some of the top Italian youth teams and with the men's teams that compete in Serie D.  He is no stranger to living away from home and competing against players much older than him.  He is a technical and versatile player that prefers to primarily play in the middle of the midfield.

Docking on Antonio: "Antonio is mature above his years.  He has a very good mind for the game and we hope to see him help share his ideas with his teammates this fall.  Antonio is a guy that can be a real sleeper initially and surprise a lot of teams.  I am very pleased that Antonio decided to come back to the U.S. and play D1 college soccer."
 
 
Luke Mühlbauer:
Coming from the German Youth Bundesliga team, Luke is a sophomore transfer from Morningside College. Luke has spent time with the historic German youth systems of Kicker Offenbach & Rot Weiss Erfurt. Luke enjoys destroying the oppositions attack and can play in the backline or as a holding midfielder.

Docking on Luke: "Luke is a guy that we were fortunate enough to pick up last minute. He is a very determined player that wants to be successful at the D1 level.  He can play a couple of different positions which is always something we look for in players.  We are looking forward to working with Luke soon!"
 
Jason Kemble
Jason joined the team in the beginning of the spring semester. After being a Conway High School soccer standout, Jason will be looking to learn and develop from his older teammates. He is a hard working midfielder and former teammate of current CCU player Luke Williams.

Docking on Jason: "We are happy to have another top local product in Jason joining us.  Jason spent time training last summer with the Myrtle Beach Mutiny USL2 team and impressed our staff.  Jason is a football junkie and has some good pieces to his game." 
 
Emile Rzepecki
Emile makes his way from France to Coastal Carolina. He has had eight selections and five caps with the French Youth National Team, one of which was a 3-0 win against the U.S. Emile has been developed by FC Sochaux, a top French youth academy, and has experience in the CFA 2 French league.
