Busch and Drouin Named to ASUN Preseason Watch List

Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse will open up the 2020 slate on Feb. 8
ATLANTA, Ga. – Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse had two student-athletes in Megan Busch and Avery Drouin named to the ASUN Women's Lacrosse Preseason watch list, the league office announced today.
The pair joins three Chanticleers in Emily D'Orsaneo, Megan Kilpatrick and Samantha Courtemanche, who were named to the ASUN preseason all-conference team earlier this month.
Last season, Busch started nine of the 13 games played for CCU in the midfield. She recorded two hat-tricks, one each against Delaware and Kent State, and scored the game-winner against Delaware. The rising redshirt junior totaled 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists, won 18 draw controls, scooped five ground balls and caused four turnovers a year ago for CCU.
Drouin appeared in 18 games last season, making five starts in her first year as a Chant. The rising junior found the back of the net four times, including the game-winner against Kennesaw State, and assisted on four other CCU goals for eight points last year. She also won 12 draw controls while gathering 10 ground balls and causing two turnovers.
Coastal totaled 47 points in the preseason poll and was picked third overall by the league's coaches.
The Chanticleers open the season with five-straight road games beginning on Feb. 8 at Old Dominion.
CCU's first home game of 2020 is set for March 15 at 2 p.m. versus Niagara at Brooks Stadium.
