Did you know you always wanted to do what you are doing professionally?  I did not. I thought I was going to work for a sports team (I worked for the San Diego Padres front office for 5 years), but found that I wanted to get into something that was more competitive and pushed me.
How did your time as a student and student-athlete at Coastal Carolina prepare you for your career and life after college? My time as a student-athlete prepared me exponentially. A lot of my coworkers who did not play sports lack the time management skills, communicative skills, or teamwork skills that I was able to develop over my years at Coastal.Â
When was the last time you had been to campus? How has the campus changed? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to return to Conway since graduating back in 2013.
What originally attracted you to Coastal as a student-athlete? I was Coach Green's first recruit! Her coaching style was aligned with my needs and once I got a tour of the campus and met some of the girls that I would be playing with, I knew I needed to come.
What are some of your most memorable moments from your time as a student-athlete at Coastal? Some of my favorite moments were on the bus going to games and getting ready before games. The times we spent in the locker room prior to games were some of the funniest moments that only the girls and I were a part of.Â
How often do you keep in touch with your former teammates? I talk to many of my former teammates at least once a month.
What are some things you enjoy doing in your free time? I travel a lot nowadays. Last year I went to Mexico City, Tulum, Rosarito, Denver, Dallas, and Miami. I get to work from home so it gives me the flexibility to check out other parts of the world outside of San Diego. I also am a season ticket holder for the Padres so I go to about 60 games a year.
What advice would you have for the current student-athletes at Coastal? 300-yard shuttles suck but they will make you better mentally and physically. The the advice I would give is to take advantage of all of the things that are offered as a student-athlete because normal people would kill to have the access you have to things that they do not. Also, it might seem daunting to go into the real world once you're done with sports, but most companies look to hire collegiate athletes because they know how hard it is to be a student and an athlete. Feel free to reach out to me if you ever visit to San Diego!Â
